West Main Studios was established in September of 1996. We are conveniently located at 30175 Highway 72 west, Madison, Alabama. Right on Highway 72, our 7200 square foot facility boasts 5 large studios. We teach ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and acrobatics. West Main Studios also has an award winning competitive dance company, which receives new members annually by way of auditions. For the past 28 seasons, West Main Studios has aspired to enlighten dancers with impeccable technique through an outstanding faculty and a common passion for the art of dance. 2021-2022 my granddaughters first year here, We loved how much she learned so quickly in a very short time. These teachers are amazing and loving and Mrs. Beverly is the Best ever so caring and loving. You also know all the dates and times for the whole year which is a big plus. This team brought home many overall placements at competition and received recognition of the hard work with NRG coins and style with the @joandjax coin in classes. And Brooklyn won the raffle to receive a choreographed piece by @katiesneed413!!! If this is what 2024 is about…BRING. IT. ON. The WMS Company raised the bar this weekend at @artistssimplyhuman in Nashville! They cleared many awards from the Performance Showcase including Special Awards, Entertainment Picks, Choreography Picks and a True Artist Award. Multiple scholarships, 2 Apprentices and a @amdaofficial Scholarship for $60k (that’s right 60 with three zeros!) for @acallison_13 And this is only half of our company and competition pieces!! What an incredible start to the year!!! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the season!!! And a special thank you to the incredible ASH faculty for the inspiring weekend and all the WMS family (teachers, parents, grands, friends) for all you do to allow your dancer these opportunities. To say we had an exciting weekend is putting it mildly. For our family, dance and the performing arts industry have been our life for almost 30 years. Sometimes, things happen that just can't go by without a mention @artistssimplyhuman @acallison_13 you outdid yourself this weekend and like many of your teammates you won a scholarship! She has traveled the world performing in music videos for a multitude of artists and choreographing alongside some of the top names in dance right now!!! Erica is coming all the way from L.A. to Alabama just for WMS and we would love to have you all there to show up and show out, please feel free to share this graphic on your social medias and tag WMS!!!! Erica Klein is an LA-based choreographer, dancer and educator. She has choreographed and danced in numerous music videos for artists such as Zedd, Lauv, Maren Morris, Gryffin, Zohara, Jeremiah, Michael Buble, Audrey Mika, Baynks, Ava Max, Alyson Stoner, Camilla Cabello, Cobi, Emma Charles, Exes, Jordan McGraw, and WOSUNG. Erica has appeared in movies such as All Styles and Disney Channel’s Zombies 2, and TV commercials for Frito Lays with Anna Kendrick, Amazon and the Falabella in Chile. She also has worked as a choreographer and creator for brands like Barbie, Ye Saint Laurent, Victoria's Secret, Target, Homegoods, Bumble, Samsung, Under Armour, think!, Spotify, Visible Mobile, Instagram, Just Dance 2021, Adidas and Red Bull. Erica is very passionate about teaching and regularly holds classes at Tmilly Studios and Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles. She has taught at dance conventions including Radix, Transcend, 24Seven, Streetz and Artist Simply Human. Although we are opening this to the public for dancers age 10 and older we are going to allow WMS Company dancers level II and above to attend this master class!! We are sad summer is over, but we are so excited to have our studios full again. One of our favorite summer highlights was the Company Intensives with @nrgdanceproject that ended with our first ever Company games! Dancers teamed up by color and played so many fun games and we ended with a Kona Ice treat! 🩷🧡❤️💙💚🤍💜 We are so excited to begin a new year with all of you! Well school is back in session, so you know what that means…it’s NUTCRACKER time!!! We are so excited for our 2nd Annual Nutcracker Performance!!! Nutcracker 2023 Auditions are tomorrow 4-6pm. Dancers must be age 8 & up to audition. All younger dancers (ages 7 and below) will be invited via an email for specified parts. Your dancer must be enrolled in Ballet to be eligible to audition. 2023-24 Company Auditions are today and tomorrow!! Let’s GOOO!!!! If you have ever thought about joining our award winning company family, we would love to answer your questions and help your dancer take the next step to joining our team. We asked our tiniest competition dancer, Scarlett, what she loved about company and here is her answer: “I love being a West Main Studios Company dancer because my friends are there and the teachers are so nice!” But we know it’s not all up to the dancers and this is an “ALL IN” for the families as well, so we also asked Scarlett’s Mama why she loves company and here is what she said: “My daughter loves being a part of Company for so many reasons, but, as a mom, I love it too. She is setting goals for herself and achieving them and being cheered by not just me but a whole tribe of amazing people—her fellow dancers, her teachers, the other parents. They love and celebrate her for who she is and encourage her to excel. It’s beautiful. She is learning and growing in her love of dance but also in life and building her character in how to work as a team and do your best when you’re tired or things seem hard. It is my honor to walk with her through those things and being a part of Company at West Main Studios has given us an opportunity do that. When we started, I didn’t know what all I was getting myself into. I was never into dance or girly stuff. In studio dress rehearsal is for working out all the kinks {and having a lot of fun in the process} before we take to the stage. We had a productive rehearsal and we are so thankful for everyone who is making this show a reality. This is a first so it’s special in that way alone. We are creating a “new” tradition that will continue on so this laying of a foundation is a huge step. Rest up dancers, one week until SHOWTIME!
